Companion - Caregiver - Homemaker Right at Home, an in home care and assistance agency which offers help in the home, currently has an excellent opportunity for a Private Duty- Male Companion Caregiver with Experience working with adults with Early Onset Alzheimers Disease We’re looking for:
- Male Caregiver must resides in the San Jose. We will not provide for relocation so you must currently reside in the area. Please do not apply if you do not live within driving range.
Must be flexible to travel with the client occasionally.Position will starting Part time and increasing to Full time.We are hiring immediately to start in 4th week of June 2008.Seeking preferrably an older male caregiver as the client is in his 80's and prefers someone closer to his age. We work closely with the AARP and are designated as an employer of persons 50+ years of age and older.
Job Duties Include:
- Assist clients with errands, light housekeeping and meal preparation. Driving to and from Appointments, Swimming and Golf and Los Gatos Country Club as well as Theatre and Health Club.
Non-medical in home care and assistance for 1 adult with Early Alzheimers. Candidate will be working closely with Family.Focus will be on maintaining effective communication between client and other family memebersPotential candidate must be willing to have the flexibility of working with 1 client and providing supportive services to the client and family members.The Companion/Caregiver will focus his day to day practices on maintaining the clients independence and self care skills.Those skills will include all activities of daily living, personal care eventually grooming skills as well as assisting and engaging with the client in mentally stimulating activities. You will receive ongoing training in the care and maintenance of individuals with Alzheimer's DiseaseCandidate will be reporting all findings to Agency Care Coordinator including but not limited to behavioral changes, self care deficits changes in cognitive functioning and communicating effectively with family members by use of nursing notes as well as regularly reporting to agency staff your findings.Candidate must be willing to put forth the effort at finding solutions to particular behaviors and problems as they arise by relaying the information to Care Coordinator or Clients Family and working with the team to find solutions to these problems as they develope.
